About the artist:
Corey Mackey is currently finishing his doctoral degree at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, and has earned degrees from Northern Arizona University and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He is currently the principal clarinetist for the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, and is the professor of clarinet at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Corey has performed and recorded an album with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and performed with Cincinnati-based chamber ensemble concert:nova. He recently gave the American premiere of Agen by British composer Adam Gorb, and is currently working with the composer to arrange his Clarinet Concerto for chamber ensemble.
Corey has performed with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, Montgomery Blue Ash Symphony, Frank Simon Band, and has performed concerti by Mozart, Weber, Rossini and Shaw. His primary teachers have included Burt Hara, Richie Hawley, Jonathan Gunn, Jeremy Reynolds and Michael Sullivan. Corey currently lives in Platteville, Wisconsin with his wife, Madalyn, and their two cats, Winks and Gus.
